Fashionable Refreshment with Appletiser StyleFIX Fashion Shows

Watch out fashionistas, a refreshing and sparkling fashion-fix is coming your way. Shopping destinations across Ireland have teamed up with Appletiser to bring a series of StyleFIX shows to a region near you! 

Appletiser, the most refreshing and healthy way to quench your thirst this season, will tour the length and breadth of Ireland with the hugely popular StyleFIX fashion shows over the spring/summer season. The catwalk shows will run from April through to August and will see the StyleFIX team showcasing the latest pastel shades and citrus brights from a huge variety of high street stores and designer brands in a high-impact fashion show – just in time for summer!

Touring seven busy fashionable shopping centres, models will strut down the catwalk showcasing a variety of trends such as military chic, pretty pastels and double denim - a fashion must this summer.  Also promising an appearance on the catwalks are boudoir-inspired lace; sheer fabrics and hints of lingerie, a look which will be sure to make fashionistas sizzle on those long, warm summer nights!

Audience members at the events will enjoy a complimentary Appletiser, free advice and make-overs from the make up experts at Smashbox and of course the very latest in summer fashion on the catwalk.

The Smashbox teams will treat guests to makeup tips and beauty know-how from their on-hand make up artists. Their teams will also be giving advice on how to make the most of what’s in your makeup bag and how to incorporate this summer’s palette into your look.

Stylist and show organiser, Cathy Martin, has her finger firmly on the pulse of all things fashion-related. She says: "Nudes and dusty pinks will continue to really take off this season as well as pale shades of yellows, oranges, blues and greens – I can see these coming into full force as we approach the summer. This trend is best suited to those with swarthy complexions but I’ll be talking to fashion-conscious consumers on the day to show how those with a Celtic complexion can pull this look off. Personally I love pale on pale, it’s just pasty that doesn’t really work!

"Big, bold and colourful prints will also be a hot choice this season so we’ll be showing you how to mix it up and embrace your vibrant nature to work the clashing trend, as seen on the international catwalks. Double denim, military utility and of course nautical are back again, but with new interpretations, so we’ll have some fun with those on the catwalk too."

What is the difference between a politician and a light bulb?

This is the question to be asked tonight (Tuesday 23 March) when The Empire Laughs Back Comedy Club will play host to a unique glow in the dark evening of comedy in support of WWF’s Earth Hour campaign.

In addition to the audience members who can enter their punch lines at the live show tonight, Cool FM listeners were also given the opportunity to phone in on the popular Sonia Mac show and give their comical answers to this question to the club where, in true Empire Comedy Club style, the professional entertainers on the night, Colin Murphy, Charlie Baker & Fred Cooke will judge the best answer, with a little help from the audience!

The glow in the dark comedy night takes place in the lead up to Earth Hour when at 8.30pm Saturday 27 March, people all around the world switch off their lights for one hour to show they care about climate change. Previously in the UK alone Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, Edinburgh Castle, the Wales Millennium Stadium and Stormont were among 200 buildings that signed up and switched off.

Jackie Hamilton, the producer of the Empire Laughs Back comedy Club said; It’s exciting for us to become part of a global event for such a relevant cause. Although global warming is a serious issue, we will be able to highlight awareness of it by having fun using glow in the dark balloons for lighting, and enjoying a unique glow in the dark show.

Republic to launch first Irish store, opening Belfast March 15th 2010

This year’s principal charity is NSPCC, which aims to end cruelty to children by fighting for their rights, listening to them, helping them and making them safe. We’ll raise money for them at the finish line ball through an auction and raffle.

The Claddagh GT officially launched in Northern Ireland on Friday 26 February 2010 at Belfast’s chic Café Vaudeville. Guests enjoyed a Bacardi-sponsored Pina Claddagh cocktail, and heard of great benefits to supported charities of the Tour as well as information on the route, the supercars featured and information on how to get involved with the horsepower.
